On 17th of August 2013 Jain Samaj Manchester had organised a "Essential First Aid Training Course" at the jain Centre. Twenty-four members of all ages had taken part. Two trainers from St John's Ambulance came to deliver the course.
The course covered emergency life support procedures for adults, children and infants.
Communication and casualty care
Looking after yourself and the casualty
Adult, child and infant resuscitation
Treatment of severe bleeding and chest pain
Treatment of choking in adults, children and infants
Treatment of an unconscious casualty.
Each candidate was given a handbook which is super and very easy to use and is very useful for just refreshing our memory. We were continuously assessed and certificates will be given to all us for completing the course
At the end of the course all the members had confidence and knowledge with both minor incidents and major emergencies, such as severe bleeding, heart attacks, choking and an unconscious casualty who has stopped breathing.
Attendees feed back:
“I can’t believe how much I learnt in 3 hours! Loads of hands-on practice. I thoroughly recommend this course to anyone who would like to be more confident in an emergency. “
“The course was, as usual, absolutely excellent. Everyone thought the detailed teaching on the correct recovery position, and the reasons for it, was very useful, and I am sure people will be able to handle situations where there may be neck damage, as the teaching was so clear.”
