PARYUSHANA PARVA 2018
(Thursday 6th September – Friday 14th September)
We – Jains celebrate ‘Paryushan Parva’ annually for self-purification and uplift is meant to adhere to the ten universal virtues in practical life;
and leads us on the right path, far from the mad strife for material prosperity, which ultimately leads us to our true destination i.e., salvation.
The festival through which an attempt is made to put an end to all vices, passions and lustful desires in thought, speech and deeds.

General Notes:
* Tapasya Forms available from 12th September from Mahendra Mehta
* During the Paryushana, ideally one shall perform 17 Pratikramanas.
* During Paryushana, one shall confine food intake between Navkarshi & Sunset time and avoid eating root vegetables & possibly green vegetables as well
* Anyone performing any tapasya (Ekasanu, Biyasanu, Upvas and Aayambil) must drink boiled water. It is also important to take appropriate Pachakhan.

* Darshanalya and Upashray opens every morning (8:30am till 1:00pm) and evening(5:00pm till 10:00pm)
